The month of July marked its beginning with a successful summer camp, held by our very own members from the IEEE - NITC Student Branch. In a span of 4 days, from the 3rd of July to the 6th, over 80+ enthusiastic participants were taught the basics of the MSP 430, the Proteus and the MIT App Inventor.
Our very own Naveen Shaji added more life to the camp by sharing his knowledge on the programming language MATLAB.
The IEEE NITC SB wholeheartedly thanks all its members and the participants for making the camp a great one.

Inauguration by artist John Mathew at 5:30pm on 11th March. The inaugural function was followed by a presentation on ‘India’s Daughter .This was followed by a streetplay on ‘Women Empowerment’ by the NITC streetplay team.poster designing,collage making competition were organized as a part of the celebration to spread awareness among students.Participants were also asked to provide captions for a few pictures on ‘women empowerment’ and
the best captions were selected out of the given captions.
A workshop on MIT app inventor was conducted on 22nd february 2015. The workshop included a session on MIT app inventor followed by an app making session.

The formal inauguration of IEEE PES Student Chapter NIT Calicut was held at EED PG seminar hall at 11:15 AM on 01/09/2014. The welcome speech was given by Dr. Ashok S. Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering NIT Calicut. Thereafter Chief guest Sri. M. Muhammad Ali Rawther, Director (Generation & Transmission- Electrical), KSEB, Kerala inaugurated the IEEE PES Chapter in NITC Campus and also delivered an expert lecture on “Smart Grids
Initiatives in Kerala- Challenges”. The chief guest was honored by Dr. Jeevamma Jacob, Professor and Head, Department of Electrical Engineering. At the end of the function, Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Kumaravel S., Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering. The program was organized in association with IEEE PES Kerala Section.
The second edition of the Linux workshop was organized at AWH College of Engineering, Kuttikattoor and KMCT College of Engineering, Calicut. There were 40 participants in both the colleges. The participants were 1st and 2nd year Btech students of both home colleges as well as neighbouring colleges. The workshop was held simultaneously on 30th August 2014 at both the venues. The hands-on training sessions were handled by WIE Members of NIT, Calicut and led by Ms. Kiran, Ms. Lakshmi Sajeev and Ms. Aiswarya Maruvada in AWH and Ms. Reshma Thomas and Ms Shalaka V. in KMCT
The WIE chapter of IEEE NITC Student Branch in association with WIE Malabar Subsection organized an introductory LINUX workshop at MEA College of Engineering, Perinthalmanna. 16 students participated in the workshop. The participants were Btech first year and second year students.
A team of 9 WIE members had gone and classes were handled by Ms. Soumya, Ms. Vishnupriya and Ms. Ragja P. The workshop was held on 23rd August 2014 at the MEA, Perinthalmanna campus. Students were introduced to the world of LINUX and the endless possibilities of LINUX shell scripting.
The Pre-Tathva MSP430 workshop is an initiative by tathva’14 in association with IEEE NITC Student Branch. This workshop is aimed at providing a deep technical knowledge to the students relating to the programming of microcontrollers and introduction to the state-of-the-art MSP430 series of Microcontrollers by Texas Instruments.
This workshop was structured for two full days and was held on 23rd and 24th of August 2014 within the NIT Calicut campus. The participants were students enrolled in various B-Tech programs of NIT Calicut.
